METALLICA Partners With Gift Retailer SPENCER'S
October 30, 2017On Friday, November 10, METALLICA will reissue one of the most revered albums in heavy metal history, "Master Of Puppets". To celebrate this event, Spencer's, the iconic retailer of lifestyle merchandise, is partnering with METALLICA to offer band tee styles available only at Spencer's 690 locations in the U.S. and Canada.
A brand new merch collection is already being rolled out to stores and online at SpencersOnline.com. The collection will include never-before-released mugs, flasks, beer mugs, pint glasses, shot glasses, and fleece blankets featuring licensed artwork from the multiplatinum "Master Of Puppets" and "Ride The Lightning" albums. All home products will be in stores November 1.
"Master Of Puppets" was released on February 24, 1986 and was the first album METALLICA recorded after signing a major label deal with Elektra Records.
The set only reached No. 29 on the Billboard album chart but has sold over six million copies in the U.S. since.
It is the last record to feature bassist Cliff Burton, who was killed later that year in a tour bus crash.
Several songs from the album are still staples of METALLICA's live set, including "Battery", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" and the title track.
Many fans consider it METALLICA's finest album, a fact that the band acknowledged by playing it in its entirety on a European tour in 2006.
